New Delhi :
There is no doubt that Kapil Sharma has re-defined comedy in India and became of King of comedy in the nick of time is surely facing a bitter aftertaste these days.
Meanwhile, his latest Bollywood release ‘Firangi’ bombed at the box-office. Directed by his good friend Rajiv Dhingra, ‘Firangi’ also stars Ishita Dutta and Monica Gill in key roles.
It seems like nothing is going right for Kapil, as a lot was expected from his home production film since his popular comedy show went off-air few months back due to bad ratings.
This all started with his infamous spat with his co-star Sunil Grover during a mid-air flight, where he was alleged for abusing and throwing shoe at him. The incident lead to the walkout of most of the star cast from the show.
Some people even accused him by saying that Kapil couldn’t handle the huge success, which he earned with a lot of hard-work and luck.
He was also charged for being alcoholic and also went to rehab for the same but the therapy didn’t work for him. Speaking on his alcohol habits, he said, “Yes. Even after going to Bangalore, I stayed there for 15 days and they went great. They wanted me to stay there for 40 days and they wanted to control my lifestyle because I had a weakness and my food habits here were disturbed.
‘’But once I came back, I started drinking again. Again, when I came back to Mumbai, to my same house, the same things started running in my mind and I again took to the bottle’’, he further added.
Now, after the failure of ‘Firangi’, the comedian will have to give a thought about his future endeavours. He really needs to pull up his socks and get his act together if he wants to win hearts once again.
