However, the film’s first day collection is lesser than Bharat, which had a mega opening at Rs 42 crore. Sharing the number on Twitter, Trade Analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted, ''#Dabangg3 Fri Rs 24.5 cr. #India biz. Note: ALL VERSIONS.’’

Sharing the opening day collections of Salman’s last movies, Adarsh shared, ''#SalmanKhan versus #SalmanKhan... *Day 1* biz...

2015: #BajrangiBhaijaan Rs 27.25 cr

2015: #PRDP Rs 40.35 cr

2016: #Sultan Rs 36.54 cr

2017: #Tubelight Rs 21.15 cr

2017: #TZH Rs 34.10 cr

2018: #Race3 Rs 29.17 cr

2019: #Bharat Rs 42.30 cr

2019: #Dabangg3 Rs 24.50 cr

#India biz.’’

The movie has also been dubbed in Kannada, Tamil and Telugu and has been released across 3,000 screens.

Film trade analyst Girish Johar earlier said, ''A Salman Khan film is coming during the festive period of Christmas when the business is up at the Indian box office. It is a hardcore masala entertainer. Makers are releasing the film in Tamil, Telugu and Kannada and are penetrating the south market as well. So, I am expecting a great start to the film at the box office.''

On being asked about why the film may not be able to beat the opening figures of Bharat, Girish said, "Bharat was a holiday release but Dabangg 3 releases on a working Friday.''

In the film, Salman is seen romancing Saiee Manjrekar, his first love interest. The film also stars Sonakshi Sinha playing Rajjo, Chulbul's wife, in the lead role.

Meanwhile, the makers have "voluntarily" removed certain scenes from the film's title track "Hud Hud Dabangg". The film had attracted controversy after a Hindu outfit objected to a sequence in the title song that shows saffron-clad sadhus dancing with guitars. Taking to Twitter, the official handle of Salman Khan Films posted, "Keeping everyone's sentiments in mind, we have voluntarily edited certain scenes from the song 'Hud Hud Dabangg'."
