Aamir Khan-starrer Dangal is beating the test of demonetisation and this is evident from the movie's first-day box office collection which is Rs 29.78 crores.

Dangal's  Box office collection is expected to cross 100 crore mark in first 3 days, according to film analyst Taran Adarsh. According to Adarsh the film has set box-office on fire and it is going to do great in future.

Interestingly, it has become the second highest opening movie of the year after Salman Khan's 'Sultan' which made a collection of Rs 36.54 Cr on its day of release.

Dangal is biographical sports drama film directed by Nitesh Tiwari. It stars Aamir Khan as Mahavir Singh Phogat, who taught wrestling to his daughters Geeta Phogat and Babita Kumari. Dangal also stars Sakshi Tanwar, Fatima Sana Shaikh, Sanya Malhotra and Zaira Wasim.

"The film has got a terrific opening of Rs 29 crore and it will continue to grow. It will sustain due to word of mouth. There is a possibility that it might touch Rs 100 crore over the weekend. The film will have its own shell life, it will run for multiple weeks..and might even break the record of Rajkumar Hiranis PK," exhibitor Akshay Rathi, told PTI.

Reportedly, Aamirs "PK" had earned over Rs 340 crore at the box office in India.

Another exhibitor Rajesh Thadani too echoed the same estimate that "Dangal" might earn close to Rs 100 crore by this weekend.
"The film is getting an overwhelming response..even the reviews are great. It should get close to Rs 100 crore by Sunday," he added.

They apprised that the biopic is doing well both in multiplexes and single screen theatres.

However, Rathi insists Aamir doesnt enjoy mass hysteria like Salman Khan.

"Salman has a huge fan following, people primarily go to watch his film because of him. Aamir is not a mass star but his name is associated with great content and quality cinema, his films are entertaining and engaging and audience loves this combination," he added.

Only time will reveal if Aami's 'Dangal' is able to beat Salman's 'Sultan' at the box office.
