Bollywood filmmakers are going the extra mile to experiment with fresh and unconventional pairing. Just when the debate around age gap in Bollywood, older women romancing women half their age was gaining the momentum, director Shakun Batra has come up with an unusual pairing of Deepika Padukone and Siddhant Chaturvedi of Gully Boy fame. The actor duo will play two of the four leads in Batra’s upcoming flick based on contemporary relationships.
The yet to be titled film will be dished out by the Dharma Productions kin. The movie will go on floors in March and the announcement for the same will be made shortly.
According to sources close to the development, the film like the last two of Batra i.e. Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu (2012) featuring Kareena Kapoor and Imran Khan and Kapoor And Sons fronted by Alia Bhatt, Sidharth Malhotra and Fawad Khan will be about relationships in the recent times and will have two couples pitted against each other. Deepika and Siddhanth will be on of the two couples, he casting of the other is yet to be finalized.
“Shakun wanted to cast a fresh face alongside Deepika and he felt Siddhant fit the bill” said the source to Mumbai Mirror. The film will also have intense romantic sequences, the source further informed.
After portraying a struggling rapper MC Sher and a mentor to the lead character, Siddhant will be next seen in Yash Raj’s Bunty Aur Babli 2 alongside Ranu Mukherji, Saif Ali Khan and newcomer Sharvari Wagh. Deepika on the other hand will be next seen in a slew of films from Chhapaak to Madhu Mantena’s ambitious project Ramayana.
