Deepika Padukone to star and co-produce hubby Ranveer Singh's '83'?

Ranveer Singh starrer ‘83’ is one of the most anticipated flicks of the current time. Movie bugs are eagerly waiting for its release and to relive the memorable moment for Indian cricket team which was the lifting of World Cup for the first time in the year 1983 and the actor has even started living with Kapil Dev to get into the skin of his charcater.

Although the director, Kabir Khan has finalized the male star cast for he film , there are no updates about the female cast as of now. Reports suggest Deepika Padukone has been roped in to play the female lead in Ranveer's next film as Ranveer aka Kapil's wife. Not just the leading lady, the catress will be playing dual role, of an actor and also as a co-producer. 

Talking about the same, a source told Pinkvilla that the 33-year-old actress has given her go ahead to the film. "Deepika has a good role because she plays Kapil's wife Romi Bhatia who was also a pageant winner. In fact, as far as the story goes, she had left the stadium after India started losing the wickets. But when she heard that they are on the verge of winning the World Cup, she came back to the stadium. That part is extremely dramatic. Also, the film will delve into the relationship between the husband and wife, their love story," the source.

Deepika will be making her debut as a producer with her next film, Chhapaak. The source said, "When she (Deepika) was narrated the story of '83, she loved it because it's not just inspirational but also extremely emotional. She and Kabir have been friends for years now. So she decided to come on board as a co-producer, too. This will be the second venture under her banner." 

It won't be wrong to say that Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh are one of the most adored couples in the tinsel town and after their fairy tale wedding in Italy, their fans are eagerly waiting to the see real life couple back on-screen.

Meanwhile, actress who is shooting for Chahapaak will make an apperance at the Cannes Film Festival like every year.
