Deepika Padukone has hit Twitter trends again. This time not for the right reason, not for her brave career choices or for speaking out about depression, however in a kind of negative way for supposedly working for #Metoo accused Luv Ranjan. 

The actress was recently snapped by the papparazzi at Luv Ranjan's office alongside Ranbir Kapoor and since then the was in news. While some rejoiced the fact that their favourite onscreen couple from Yeh Jawani hai Deewani or Tamaasha are coming back, some questioned her decision of giving a nod to a project that will be helmed by a person who has allegations of sexual miscondut against his name. Soon #NotMyDeepika became a trend and fans took turn to protest her choices. Some however asked why is she being targeted and not Ranbir Kpaoor and Ajay Devgn who too have projects up there sleeve.S ome of them also went on to highlight how she will be losing thousands of fans if she says yes to the film

A user took to the platform to write about the actress's fans, "Well #DeepikaPadukone got an amazing fan base, all so wise. They are really not like other celebrity's fans. They like and support her but not blindly and that's how fans are supposed to be. Shame on those fans who abuse someone for not liking who they do. #notmydeepika. (sic)"

For the uninitiated,  in October 2018, when the #MeToo campaign started by Tanushree Dutta was at its peak,  an actress alleged that director Luv Ranjan had asked her to strip when she went to audition for a movie in 2010. 
Later, the Pyaar Ka Punchnama  issued an apology. In a statement, he said, "I apologise to whoever I have caused hurt, whoever I have not made feel comfortable enough. I apologise for not being able to communicate my intent. I apologise for not being able to make someone feel that I am the man that I have aspired to be and I believe I am."
