Veteran actor Dilip Kumar was admitted to Mumbai's Lilavati Hospital on Tuesday morning after he complained of swelling in his right leg and fever.

The 93-year-old legend was rushed to the Lilavati hospital in suburban Bandra, "He had swelling in his right leg and we wanted to getit investigated properly. So we took him to the hospital.Also, he undergoes routine check up every few months and thatis being done as well," the actor's wife Saira Banu told PTI.
"He is doing fine...There is nothing to worry. Hisblood test was done this morning," she said. The veteran actor will be turning 94 on December 11and Saira hopes he is back home by then. "Doctors are examining him well. I hope and pray thathe will be at home on his birthday," she said.
Earlier, Kumar was admitted to Lilavati hospital for afew days in April this year following respiratory problems.
In a career spanning over six decades, the actor gave hits like “Madhumati”, “Devdas”, “Mughal-e-Azam”, “Ganga Jamuna”, “Ram Aur Shyam”, “Karma” and others.
He was crowned as the ‘Tragedy King’ for playing a doomed lover in films like “Andaz”, “Baabul”, “Mela”, “Deedar”, “Jogan” and others. He was last seen in the film “Qila” in 1998.

Kumar was awarded Padma Vibhushan in 2015. Earlier, he was honoured with Padma Bhushan in 1991 and the Dadasaheb Phalke Award in 1994 for his outstanding contribution to Indian cinema.
