Theatres are gleaming with footfall as three movies, Housefull 4, Saand Ki Aankh and Made in China make their way to the screens leaving movie buffs with a galore of choices.
Housefull 4 in spite of the poor reviews it earned from film critics had a great opening day collection that pushed in the evening like a normal Friday due to Pre Diwali. According to Box Office India, early estimates reveal that the film has grossed Rs 19 crore nett.
At 9 crore, the Akshay kumar-Kriti Sanon starrer became the highest opening ever for the Housefull franchise, despite being a pre Diwali release. Housefull 4 also became the second highest opening ever for a comedy film after the 30 crore nett which Golmaal Again got on the day after Diwali a couple of years back.
According to trade analysts the figures will pick up after from Monday after Diwali festivities end. Generally the figures go lower on Diwali and the day before Diwali and it remains to be seen where Housefull 4 goes over the next two days.
The other two releases Rajkummar Rao-Boman Irani’s Made In China faded in the starry glory of Housefull even with positive reviews and manged to collect around 1 crore nett while Saand Ki Ankh may just top the 50 lakh mark by a few lakhs. The early estimates of the Diwali releases are as follows.
Meanwhile, Saand ki Aankh has been declared tax free in Delhi, Rajastha and Uttar Pradesh leaving reasons for the biopic on India’s eldest sharp shooters gaining much popularity.
Earlier trade analysts Komal Nehta revealed how distributors are in a fix over how to accommodate shows all the production houses are trying their best to get the maximum number of screens and shows.
