Doosra Trailer Out: Abhinay Deo sports drama is an unconventional take on how India's NatWest 2002 win led to freedom of emotions

Doosra Trailer Out! Movie based on India's NatWest 2002 win

Director Abhinay Deo yesterday dropped the poster of his third venture a socio-sports drama with an intrguing poster in black and white that is reminiscent of India’s memorable victory in the NatWest Trophy final against England in 2002

The poster itself posed several questions and now the trailer of the film was released at a time when Indian cricket team's undeafeted stint at ICC World Cup 2019 has sent the entire nation into cricket frenzy.  Going by the trailer, the movie looks like a perfect blend of twoo things Indians love most, movies and cricket.

The trailer starts with India's historic win at the NatWest Final and then moves on to showcases in glimpses how Sourav's bare bodies dance influences her to free herself from bemotions that had held her captive so long. The trailer also features several cricket journalists, Indian politician Shashi Tharoor, former England cricket team player Nassir Hussain, who was the captain of the losing side in 2002, talking about the win and even an archive of Sourav Ganguly's chat with current Indian cricket team's captain, Virat Kohli.

Sharing the trailer of Doosra, director Abhinay Deo (Delhi Belly, Game, Force 2, Blackmail) tweeted, "Proud to present the trailer of our film #Doosra. Please do watch and share (link: https://bit.ly/DoosraOfficialTrailer) bit.ly/DoosraOfficial… A format never used before weaving fiction with real footage to chronicle a chapter in our history where a victory became a defining moment for India #DoosraTrailer"

Watch the trailer of Doosra below:

Director Abhinay Deo says, “Sourav Ganguly marked the end of an era, the end of the submission. His one move at the NatWest final was so powerful and brought such a huge paradigm shift in our thinking. This film captures this through the life of a girl living in a patriarchal family suppressed by society and societal obligations. The poster of the film is only the first look. There are several more layers that audiences will understand once they watch the trailer.”

Actor Plabita Borthakur who starred in PK and last seen in Lipstick Under My Burka and Ankur Vikal from Slumdog Millionaire has played pivotal characters in the movie.
