Fatima Sana Shaikh, who shared screen space with Aamir Khan in Dangal (2016) and Thugs of Hindostan (2018), has often been linked with the Bollywood’s perfectionist. Blame it on their several public outings together or Aamir going out of his way to get Fatima cast in Thugs of Hindostan, it’s been long since the industry started talking about their equation in hushed tones.
In an interview with Bollywood Hungama, when Fatima was asked about her link-up rumours with Aamir, she said, ‘’It’s very weird. My mother keeps on watching TV and the other day she showed me ‘Your photo has come’ and I was like ‘Read the headline to know what’s written.’ I used to get disturbed and I felt like I should explain myself.’’
“If someone accuses you of something, the first instinct is to come out and tell, ‘Listen, why do you think it is like this?’ If you are an aggressive person, you will attack. If you are a submissive person, even then you will talk about it. But, now, I do not feel the need to explain because I feel no matter what you do, people will talk about you. Logon ka kaam hai bolna woh bolenge,” she further added.
In a recent group interview with Indian Express, when Aamir was asked about the changes he saw in Fatima from their first project, he had said, “Oh, she has done really well. Fatty (as she is fondly called) has some really tough action scenes in Thugs. But she is really hard working. I am really happy to see her grow. She has done a commendable job in the film.”
On the work front, Fatima was last seen in Thugs of Hindostan. During an interview talking about the failure of the film, she said, ‘’ I’m inherently insecure and when Thugs failed, I cried for days. I don’t think I stepped out of my house for four-five days. On some days, I didn’t even get out of bed. Then I found some confidence to tell myself that if it wasn’t good enough, it’s still fine.’’
The actress is yet to announce her next project.
