Vicky Kaushal, who has emerged as one of the most bankable actors in the past year, is riding on the success of Raazi, Sanju and Uri: The Surgical Strike. The actor added another feather in his cap on Saturday by making his debut on the Filmfare stage. And what better way than to pay a tribute to Amitabh Bachchan. Speaking about his performance before the show, Vicky said he was excited about three reasons. While it would be his first time on the Filmfare stage, he would also be paying a tribute to Amitabh Bachchan. The third reason was that his performance was choreographed by Shaimak Davar whose work he has followed since his childhood. Â
With utmost swag, Vicky brought the house down as he danced on the superstar’s popular numbers from Don to Kajrare at the 64th edition of the awards. As a surprise appearance, Vicky was joined by Shah Rukh Khan, who gave the most-fitting tribute to the Shahenshah of Bollywood.
While Vicky grabbed the "The Black Lady" for the Best Supporting Actor (Male) for his noteworthy performance in Sanju. After winning the award, a clearly ecstatic Vicky said that he had watched Filmfare Awards as a child and it was his dream to hold ‘this Black Lady’. Not only that, but he was also the highlight of the evening as the host with the ever-charming Shah Rukh Khan.

Vicky’s latest release, Uri: The Surgical Strike, earned huge at the Box Office and entered the Rs 200-crore club becoming one of the highest grossing films of 2018.Â
While Meghna Gulzar directorial Raazi won the Best Film award, Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor bagged the Best Actor Award for their mind-boggling performance in Raazi and Sanju, respectively.Â
