After the controversial departure of Nana Patekar from Housefull 4, owing to the heat of #MeToo movement, Baahubali fame Rana Daggubati has joined the cast of the film. Also starring Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshmukh, Kriti Sanon, Pooja Hegde, and others, this will be the first comedy franchise in which Rana will be stepping into. The actor seems to be pretty excited about this project.

In a statement released by Ahmedabad Mirror, Rana quoted, “It is always good to find work outside of Hyderabad, get to learn so much and do so many new things. I’ve never been part of a genre like Housefull and it’s always exciting to work with different genres. Working with Akshay Kumar again (after Neeraj Pandey’s 2015 action-spy thriller Baby), Sajid (Nadiadwala) and Farhad (Samji) is something I am really looking forward to.”
Nana had to walk away from the film after being accused of sexual harassment by Tanushree Dutta. The accusation stirred a #MeToo movement in Bollywood which called out names of many prominent names of Bollywood. Nana along with Sajid Khan, Vikas Bahl, Rajat Kapoor, and Alok Nath, among others, are a few names that were dragged into the controversy.

Sexual harassment allegations against Sajid Khan by three women also resulted in him stepping down from being the film’s director. Sajid was replaced by Farhad Samji, director of Housefull 3, who will now direct the fourth movie from the Housefull franchise.
