Bollywood star Akshay Kumar, who was last seen in PadMan, is currently busy shooting for his much-awaited film Kesari. A huge fire broke out on the sets of the period drama at in Maharashtra’s Satara district on Tuesday, according to police officials.
The fire was brought under control and fortunately no one was hurt, a Satara Police control roolm official told PTI.
The cast and crew of the film was busy shooting for the climax scenes of the war drama in Budruk village in Wai teshsil. Akshay had left for the day after completing his scenes, however, the rest of the crew members were present on the set.
The battle scene in the film depicted a bomb explosion and some embers fell on the set material in the vicinity, causing the mishap, a police official told PTI.
A huge portion of the set was gutted and hence the shoot has been stalled for the time being, a report in DNA suggested.
Akshay Kumar has returned back home after completing his portions, while the female lead Parineeti Chopra is currently enjoying her vacations in Australia.
Talking about Kesari, the Anurag Singh directorial is based on the battle of Saragrahi in 1897. The flick which is jointly produced by Cape of Good Films, Dharma Productions and Azure Entertainment will hit the silver screens next year.
