The actor was present on the set when the fire broke out this evening but later escaped unhurt.

A fire broke out on the set of Shah Rukh Khan starrer Zero in Mumbai Film City in Goregaon, according to reports. Soon after the incident, four fire tenders were rushed to the spot and have been trying to dodge the fire. However, no casualty has been reported into the incident so far. While Alia Bhatt was reportedly around the sets of Zero, King Khan was in his vanity van when the mishap took place. The cast and crew of Zero were busy shooting a song on the set.

"Mumbai: Fire breaks out in Film City, Goregaon. Four fire tenders at the spot. No injuries reported," news agency ANI reported.

Though there was no immediate word on behalf of team Zero regarding the incident, one of SRK's fan clubs posted a photo from the spot. Prima facie, the incident is said to be caused by a short circuit. However, the actual reason behind the incident is yet to be ascertained.

The fire was confined to electric wiring, electric installation, lights, shooting materials, ropes and curtains, according to Vinay Rathod, Deputy Commissioner of Police. Smoke was seen billowing out of the studio, Rathod added.

Helmed by Anand L Rai, Zero revolves around the life of one Bauua Singh, a vertically challenged man who falls in love with a NASA scientist with cerebral palsy. However, leading superstar Babita also gets close to him, testing his first relationship. This love triangle takes the trio to far-off cities and they get to discover the differences between true love and compassion in their life.

While Anushka Sharma essays the role of NASA scientist, Katrina Kaif is seen as superstar Babita in the flick. Produced on a whopping budget of Rs 200 crore, Zero is scheduled to hit the theatres on December 21.
