Bollywood actresses Huma Qureshi and Swara Bhasker took to Instagram to express concern about the unfortunate incident that happened at Delhi University's Gargi College where a group of female students were allegedly molested by a group of men who gate crashed the event during a college fest. The incident came to light after some students of the college took to Instagram to narrate their unpleasant experiences during the February 6 college fest.
Huma who is an alumnus of the college took to her Twitter account and reacted on the situation. She was shocked to know about the incident since she has studied there. She wrote, “Mass molestation in #GargiCollege What the hell is going on ?? This is where I studied.... Makes me so sick and angry! Why can’t we protect our daughters ? Why can’t we protect our students in this country??”

Swara Bhasker who has been very vocal about socio-political issues on her social media platforms, shared the screenshots of the ordeal of the girls and expressed her anger on the situation. She wrote, “What the hell is going on in #Delhi Madness & depravity in Gargi College!?!? #Shameful”

Richa Chadha too express disgust about the incident and taking reference to similar incidents happening in JNU and Jamia campus said, “This must be what Frankenstein was about. Female students were groped at JNU, Jamia too... cctvs were broken. At #GargiCollege , the goons just proved that they never needed a reason. It was never about ideology. These men live among us. You and yours are next."

Meanwhile, Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) on Monday summoned principal of Gargi College Promila Kumar, asking her to appear before it on February 13 at 2 pm in connection with the alleged molestation of students. The summon was issued hours after DCW chief Swati Maliwal visited the Gargi College to take note of the situation regarding the incident.
