Ahead of Independence Day 2018, Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar was appointed the Road Safety Brand Ambassador on Tuesday. The Gold actor joined hands with the Union ministry of Road, Transport and Highways to promote road safety through its new campaign.
As a part of the campaign, Union Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari launched three short videos directed by R Balki, featuring Akshay Kumar to create road safety awareness.

Gadkari, appreciating Akshay Kumar’s concern for social activism, recalled his recent movies Padman and Toilet: Ek Prem Katha, which have gone a long way in passing the government’s message of cleanliness and hygiene.
The Transport minister also called upon people to adopt good practices in road safety to build an accident-free society.

Akshay Kumar, sharing his experiences of producing the short films, said he felt proud to join the government’s efforts to make Indian roads safe.
