Karan Johar and Amitabh Bachchan have worked together in several movies be it Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gam, Kabhi Avida Na Kehna or the upcoming Brahmastra and needless to say the filmmaker and the actor duo share a special bond. On the occasion of the ‘Shehenshah’ of Bollywood’s 77th birthday, Karan expressing his great respect and adoration for the maverick actor has shared a heartfelt note.
Sharing about the privilege he enjoyed growing around Big B, Karan said he was just 3 or 4 years old when he began to realise ‘the magnitude of the man’.
Further telling his followers how touching his feet every time they meet came naturally to him, he claimed, “it’s now a reflex action when I see him and I can never stop myself ( even when i know my pants are perhaps a tad tight and it could result in an embarrassing tear)”
Boasting about his familiarity with Amitabh whom he considers a father figure and can call, Amit Uncle, Karan shared how he felt the first he knew he has to work with the ‘Gulabo Sitabo’ actor. “I probably can never be entirely myself around him because that starstruck kid with big awestruck eyes every time he walked into a room has never ever left me...and never will...I fainted the First time I had to work him and am not sure things have changed even today...I faint a little in my head every time I meet him and then compose myself so I can play act serious filmmaker again!
Calling the recent Dada Saheb Phalke Award winner his hugest inspiration, Karan explained how “his child like enthusiasm for everything he does...his paramount passion for every tiny detail...his ambition to keep achieving after being the ambassador of achievement “ makes him the ‘legend’ that he is! “
“And there shouldn’t be....he has earned the place of mega movie star monopoly! Happy birthday Amit uncle! We love you so much....” wrote Karan as he concluded his post.
Amitabh, the star of the millennium turns 77 years old today. The actor will be next seen in movies like Gulabo Sitabo with Ayushmann Khurrana, Chehre with Emraan Hashmi and in several other projects.
