Not all movies revolve around the male characters. Not all Indian actresses do the role where a male is lead. Here are some of the examples where Indian actresses broke the stereotypes and did the role of fierce cop. 

Priyanka Chopra in ‘Jai Gangaajal’

Priyanka Chopra did the role of fierce police officer in Prakash Jha’s Jai Gangajal. The Priyanka who is already on cloud nine after her recent achivents in Hollywood, has also won immense for her latest role in Gangajal sequel.

Tabu in ‘Drishyam’

Tabu, the steel actress of B-town, did an intense role of woman police officer in ‘Drishyam’. She played a character which is going throught the dilemma of being a mother on one hand and being a police officer on the other.

Rani Mukerji in ‘Mardaani’

Many find the title of this movie a bit sexist but Rani Mukerji broke all stereotypes with her bold character ‘Mardaani.’ In this Pradeep Sarkar’s production, audience was also surprised to see a female character doing action packed scenes.

Bipasha Basu in ‘Dhoom 2’

Bipasha Basu did a double role in ‘Dhoom 2’. The actress was applauded for her short but pivotal act as a cop.

The film has seen the most glamorous avatar of a female cop in Bollywood films by far.

Hema Malini in ‘Andha Kanoon’

Director Tatineni Rama Rao’s ‘Andha Kanoon’ is prominently known for the unique pairing of Amitabh Bachchan-Rajinikanth and the title song.

Despite the presence of stalwarts like Big B and Rajinikanth, Malini managed to get more than noticed.
