Rani will be seen playing the role of a school teacher who suffers from a speech defect - Tourette syndrome- and the movie revolves her journey to be a teacher and her emotional bond with the students.
Helmed by Siddharth Malhotra, Hichki also stars Supriya Pilgaonkar, Asif Basra and Shivkumar Subramaniam in key roles.
While Rani has made every single effort to create a buzz about Hichki with extensive promotions, the movie has apparently failed to be the talk of the town.
According to the media reports, with an average buzz, Hichki is expected to get a normal opening with a collection of Rs 2 crore on the opening day.
Bollywood trade analyst Girish Johar, during his recent interview with Financial Express, "The trailer was interesting as people got to watch something humane after a long time. But the buzz is on the average side, I believe in the content of the film and the Rani Mukerji starrer is likely to mint Rs 2 cr on the opening day. Of course if the movie is good and the word of mouth is positive, it might garner somewhere between Rs 7-8 cr in the weekend."
Notably, Hichki will be facing a competition from Ajay Devgn's Raid which is doing a decent business at the box office. The movie has managed to mint Rs 58.39 cr within a week and still have a strong grip.
We wonder if Rani Mukerji's comeback movie Hichki will be able to leave a mark amongst the audience.
