Yo Yo Honey Singh, the singer-songwriter, shares how 2018 is the comeback year for him. He recently shared the teaser of his upcoming song on social media. After the release of his 2014 album, Desi Kalaakar, Yo Yo Honey Singh had disappeared from the music scene, as he was suffering from bipolar disorder.
”2018 surely sounds like my comeback year. I feel overwhelmed and blessed for the response each of my songs this year has received. Both songs, Dil Chori and Chote Chote Peg (Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety), went on to become chartbusters and I see them being played all over,” the singer said in a release.
However, Yo Yo Honey Singh said that he was on a “break” and is quick to brush off any criticism that came his way while he was on hiatus. “I never paid heed to the criticism or negative comments. In fact, as an artist, I feel this break was more like a learning experience for me because it helped me get closer to music,” Yo Yo Honey Singh said.

Yo Yo Honey Singh also shares that his fans are the biggest support as they have waited so long for him to come back. “The unconditional bond that we share isn’t defined by a timeline. So the criticism really doesn’t affect me as long as I have my fans supporting me,” he said.
Talking about his evolution as a musician, he now wants to focus on developing a more “international” sound for his music.
”Music evolves every day. I myself want to shift from dance music to contemporary music and am working on that. The whole music scenario is now changing to the urban and international while it was earlier dominated only by Bollywood music. Also, Punjabi music getting more popularity is another example of the changing times. Culture has changed and will be changing constantly. I am always in search of creating new genres,” the singer said.
