It's just a couple of days left for Hrithik Roshan's upcoming movie 'Kaabil' to hit the screens, and the movie has already hit the profit making path.
As per the media reports, the movie, which was made with a budget of Rs 35 crore, has already recovered its cost of production as its satellite rights itself are sold at a whopping amount of Rs 50 crore.
Confirming the news, 'Kaabil' producer Rakesh Roshan told an entertainment portal, “You know I sold the film for a lesser price to my distributors. I am the only producer who sells to individual distributors. My all India sale to distributors is not exceeding more than Rs. 42 crores. I made the film in, without counting Hrithik’s and my price, we have made the film at a budget of Rs.35 crore. Plus Rs. 15 cr on P&A. Satellite rights were sold for Rs. 50 cr, while music was sold for Rs 8 crore. Overseas went for Rs. 16 crore.”
Interestingly, 'Kaabil' is going to witness a major box office clash with Shah Rukh Khan starrer 'Raees' which is also hitting the screens on the same date.
It is going to be a cut throat competition for Hrithik and SRK, but looks like 'Kaabil' is already having an upper hand on 'Raees' much before the release.
Talking about the clash, Hrithik Roshan has admitted that he is really looking forward to it.
“We are in a business. We are also in a friendship. Both should be in their place. We should understand that business is business and friendship is friendship. Raees and Kaabil can clash but the friendship and business should not clash. Once you got that sorted out then you’re at peace. Everything teaches you something and every experience is a good experience. I’m looking forward to the clash because it’s something new. It’s happening for the first time so I’m going to enjoy,” Hrithik reportedly told an entertainment portal.
Only time will reveal if 'Kaabil' will be able to maintain the lead post release as well.
Helmed by Sanjay Gupta, 'Kaabil' also features Yami Gautam in the lead and will hit the screens on January 25.
