I did not want to bore my audience, says Firangi actor Kapil Sharma

Kapil Sharma, who is currently awaiting the release of his upcoming flick ‘Firangi’ on December 1. There is a lot at stake for the comedian as his once hugely popular show also went off-air few months back and a huge sum of money is involved in making of the film as well.

This would be second film for Kapil Sharma as an actor after ‘Kis Kis Ko Pyaar Karoon’. He ensured that his second film had much more than the first one.

In an interview with a Mumbai daily, he said, "I became popular with my show , and everyone started offering me roles of similar nature. Despite being offered good remunerations, I refused to take them up’’.

"I didn't want to bore my audience. Rajiv Dhingra's directorial venture has a sprinkling of comedy, but has sufficient romance and drama to showcase him in a new light’’, he added.

He also said that the subject of Independence in the film has been tackled differently, which is why he decided to also venture the film completely because he didn’t want to compromise on the quality.

Comedian Kapil Sharma also finally admits the real reason behind his talk show going off-air. The spat with his co-star Sunil Grover played a major role in the decision to take the show off air. He even accepted that the humour started becoming repetitive so he said, " we needed a break."

Directed by Rajiev Dhingra, ‘Firangi’ also stars Ishita Dutta and Monica Gill in pivotal roles.
