Recently, during an event National Award-winning actress Vidya Balan expressed her happiness to be a part of the Central Board of Film Certification(CBFC) where she admittted that everybody is ‘like-minded’.
Speaking about her decision to be a part of the board, she said, "I thought if I don't say yes to this, I'd lose the right to criticise any decision ever taken by the CBFC. I thought I was ready to take the responsibility’’.
At the launch event of &Prive HD channel in Mumbai, the 38-year old actress on being asked about her approach to-be as a member of the board, but she didn’t reveal anything. She just said that she is feeling good that all like-minded people are on the board.
Filmmaker Vishal Bharadwaj, who was also present at the event said, "It feels good that Vidya is there in the committee and a person who is a poet (talking about Prasoon Joshi) is heading the CBFC. I hope he remains poetic in his procedures also. I am hopeful. Prasoon is a friend, I really love his work’’.
Talking about the recently released Ayushmann Khurrana-Bhumi Pednekar starrer ‘Shubh Mangal Saavdhan’, Vidya told PTI, "I saw Shubh Mangal Saavdhan and I enjoyed it thoroughly. Two years ago, you couldn't have imagined that there will be a film about erectile dysfunction so well made with a fairly popular actor’’.
Apart from Prasoon Joshi, who is appointed as the new head of CBFC, the government also included members like Narendra Kohli, Vani Tripathi Tikoo, Gautami Tadimalla and Vivek Agnihotri in the board.
Vidya Balan is currently awaiting the release of her upcoming flick ‘Tumhari Sulu’ which is slated to release on November 24.
