Nawazuddin Siddiqui has arched for himself a niche spot for himself in the Bollywood film industry with his back to back hits, power-packed performance, and smart delivery of punch lines. His rusty touch to every character he portrays has won hearts of movie buffs. As the wait for Sacred Games Season 2 intense, Nawaz has revealed that he often gets jealous of actors playing titular roles in cult Holywood movies on IMDb's show, The Insider's Watchlist with Anupama Chopra.
One of the roles he envies is played by Tony Leung in a Hong Kong romantic drama, In the Mood For Love. " He internalises the role so well. You don't see it on his face or in his eyes, but you can see him using his mind to bring the character to you" said Nawaz. His other favourite movie is Bicycle Thieves.
Nawaz even revealed that though he fails to follow the language all the time, he loves watching international films and understands them way better than people who understand and speak English.
Taking about mainstream Bollywood movies, he named Sparsh to have had a huge influence on him. But rest of the potboilers are just for fun and enjoyment. He further revealed that Mammo by Shyam Benegal is his favourite movie of all times.
Other international films that have struck a chord with him are Scarface, The Secret In Their Eyes, Separation amongst others.
Interesting, every time he watches a movie not as an audience but as an actor. Narcos and Black Mirror happen to be his favour web series so far.
On the work front, Nawazuddin was last seen in Photograph opposite Sanya Malhotra that got rave reviews for its realistic depiction of an uncommon love story and has recently signed up for Bole Chudiyan opposite Mouni Roy.
