The 48th edition of International Film Festival of India (IFFI) kick-started with a bang in Goa on November 20. Considered as one of the country's biggest film festivals, IFFI was inaugurated by Shah Rukh Khan.

IFFI 2017 opening ceremony turns out to be starry affair (picture credits- Twitter)

The 48th edition of International Film Festival of India (IFFI) kick-started with a bang in Goa on November 20. Considered as one of the country's biggest film festivals, IFFI was inaugurated by Shah Rukh Khan. 

The 'Raees' actor in his official welcome spoke about India is a land of stories and how these stories make us believe and even inspire us to do things.

 King Khan stressed on how film-making symbolises love and has the power to touch all our senses. He quoted Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam from Sanskrit and said-  “I believe no matter what your language is, no matter what country your story comes from, and no matter what your ideology is, story-telling and listening should be a familial experience which binds us together, even in the face of dissent and discussion as it usually happens in a family, instead of tearing us apart.”

The star-studded event attended by the likes of Shahid Kapoor, Sridevi, Boney Kapoor, Janhvi Kapoor, AR Rehman, Nana Patekar and many other known names.
