In May, it was extensively reported that actor Imran Khan and wife Avantika Malik had separated after eight years of marriage. The reports of their separation were fueled when Avantika dropped 'Khan' from her surname on Instagram and reportedly also moved out to her parents' place, with her daughter.
Now, Avantika has shared a cryptic note on her Instagram story which hints at a breakup with husband Imran Khan. She quoted American musician Morgan Harper Nichols and captioned it: "Needed to see this today."
"Sometimes, you have to walk away. You have to look at the things you're giving energy to and realize that even though you could stay, and try to win their approval or try to make it up their ladder, you could also make the brave choice to take whatever energy you have left to a space that welcomes you," an excerpt from the quote reads, that also ends with a significant line: "You may still need to walk away, trusting there is so much more ahead of you."
However, later she deleted the post. Meanwhile, in June when Imran was asked about reports of his divorce he had dodged the question, while Avantika’s mother Vandana Malik had rubbished rumours of their divorce while speaking to a website previously.
"We all (Vandana, Avantika and Imran) read the news and let me tell you that there is no such thing. There are some differences (between the husband and wife), which will be sorted anyway," Vandana Malik had said.
Imran Khan and Avantika Malik married in 2011. Their first child together, daughter Imara, was born in 2014. While Imran has stayed away from movies lately, Avantika has taken to bartending, for which she is practicing in London.
