Instagram Awards 2017: Deepika Padukone wins Most Followed Account, says 'value the love, support'

The popular photo-sharing app Instagram has announced its first ever Instagram Awards in India for 2017 to acknowledge the most engaging members.

Instagram is a renowned app which is popular not just amongst the commoners but also amongst the celebs from various fields.

While it was indeed a tough competition, it was Bollywood Deepika Padukone who won the 'Most Followed Account' of the year with 22.4 million followers. She was followed by Priyanka Chopra and Alia Bhatt with 22 million and 20.8 million followers respectively.

Talking about the achievement, Deepika said in a statement, "Staying connected with my fans and loved ones is extremely important to me. I value the love, support and connection I share with them and I hope I continue to remain true and authentic."

On the other hand, Indian skipper Virat Kohli turned to the 'Most Engaged Account'. Virat enjoys a huge following of 19.8 million followers so far and has managed to engage his fans with his interesting posts.

The list of Instagram Awards 2017 also acknowledged upcoming actor Ishaan Khattar for being the 'Emerging Account'.

Ishaan is yet to make his silver screen debut with Karan Johar's Dhadak, but looks like the young actor's fanbase has grown significantly in 2017.

Talking about the same, Ishaan said that he loves Instagram as it helps him connect with everyone.

"It's a non-stop source for inspiration from people and personalities all over the world. I find it especially enjoyable because it's about connecting through pictures and videos. On a more personal note it's almost like a time machine for your memories and a way to immortalise your favourite moments," Ishaan said.

He further said, "It's lovely connecting with others through this medium and I look forward to being inspired and hopefully inspiring more people in the future, too".
