The Indian Premiere League (IPL) 2018 is all set to entertain the cricket lovers once again with its eleventh season. The preparations are going in full swing and several celebrities will be seen giving stunning performances for the IPL opening ceremony this year.
Reportedly, Ranveer Singh, who was said to entertain the audience with his dance moves during the opening ceremony, will not be participating in the event anymore.
The media reports suggest that the organisers are planning to replace the actor with Hrithik Roshan for the grand event.
While the news has come as a surprise for many, the organisers have their valid reason to replace Ranveer.
The Befikre actor has recently injured himself during a charity football match following which he has been advised not to overstrain his shoulder for almost a month.
Confirming the same, Ranveer's spokesperson said, "After multiple medical check-ups, the doctors have strongly advised Ranveer Singh to not perform at this year's IPL opening ceremony in which he was doing the finale act. They feel his high-energy performance would only overstrain his shoulder and aggravate the injury."
Given that the IPL 2018 will kick start on April 7, the organisers have decided to make the last minute changes.
Notably, the opening ceremony will also feature performances by Varun Dhawan, Jacqueline Fernandez, Parnieeti Chopra etc.
The media reports also suggest that Judwaa 2 actor has been the highest paid actor for the grand event with a fee of Rs 6 crore.
Varun also has begun his preparation for the opening ceremony and pictures from his rehearsals have gone viral on social media.
