The the next season of Indian Premier League is about to begin and the cricket fever is all set to take over the nation. As expected the opening ceremony of IPL 2018 is going to be a grand one and several Bollywood celebrities will be marking their presence including Varun Dhawan, Parineeti Chopra, Ranveer Singh, Jacqueline Fernandez etc.
Reportedly, these A-listers charge a hefty amount for performing in the opening ceremony and this time is Varun Dhawan who is getting the highest remuneration.
According to the reports, Varun will be paid around Rs 6 crore for his performance in IPL 2018 opening ceremony.
Apparently, the Judwaa actor's fees have surpassed that of Ranveer Singh who was earlier touted to be the highest paid performer for the event.
"Recently, there were reports that Ranveer has been given around Rs 5 crore for his IPL act. But the organisers have paid Varun much more and he’s the highest paid of the lot this year. His fee is somewhere close to Rs 6 crore, although the exact figure isn’t known," a source reportedly told DNA.
The report further suggested that the organisers took the decision considering his popularity amongst the audience and the way he connects with his fans.
"Varun has a great connect with the masses and among all the actors from the younger generation, he has the maximum number of chartbusters in his kitty. He will be dancing to his recent hits from Badrinath Ki Dulhania and Judwaa 2, as well as other films. Jacqueline and he might also perform a few songs together," the source added.
Currently, Varun Dhawan is busy promoting his upcoming movie October opposite Banita Sandhu. Helmed by Shoojit Sircar, the movie is scheduled to release on April 13.
Besides, he is also shooting for Sharat Katariya's upcoming directorial Sui Dhaaga along with Anushka Sharma.
