Irrfan Khan's 'Hindi Medium' declared tax free in Maharashtra

Irrfan Khan starrer 'Hindi Medium' has been declared tax-free by the government of Maharastra, the film's producer said on Thursday. Actor Irrfan Khan-starrer 'Hindi Medium' was released on May 12. The announcement was made by the 'Madaari' actor on micro-blogging site Twitter.

"I would like to thank Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis for announcing our film 'Hindi Medium' as tax-free in the state. The film has already got a tax exemption in Gujarat. We are very glad to share the news," producer Bhushan Bhushan told media here during a special screening of the film.

Actor Irrfan Khan, who was also present at the screening, said: "This is a great step, more people will watch the movie as it is tax-free now. The film addresses a social issue and it is a family entertainer. So it needs to reach a wider audience. I hope the film gets tax exemption in other states as well."

It seems to be funny how people of a country like India, whose national language is supposed to be Hindi, demands their children to get admitted in an English school. Well, in the trailer, the couple are driven by the factors for their child to get an admission in an English school.

In the trailer we see, Irrfan with her wife, played by Pakistani actress Saba Qamar is managing somehow to get the school they desire for their daughter. Although getting an private English school for their kids seems a difficult job for the couple also they themselves were never schooled in one.

They feel that their daughter will have difficulty in her life ahead if she is not fluent in English. When no options works out, they even decide to get rid of their possessions to get their daughter admitted through gareeb quota.

Pakistani actress Saba Qamar is all set to make her bollywood debut with this film and is looking stunning while playing her role alongside Irrfan Khan who is already known for his powerful screen presence. Also we can see Deepak Dobriyal from Tanu weds Manu, who is supposed to have a cameo and is seen playing a humourous character.
