Movie buffs rejoiced when Irffan Khan got back to shoot after recovering from neuroendocrine tumour for his highly anticipated film Angrezi Medium which is a sequel to his film Hindi Medium which was a super hit flick and starred Saba Qamar and Amrita Singh.
The movie with a low budget and a unique concept clocked much at the box office. Now when the shoot for its sequel has started, fans are curious who will be cast as the female lead.
Yesterday, Dinesh Vijan, Deepak Dobriyal and the rest of the crew were seen shooting in the streets of Udaipur Rajasthan for Angrezi Medium along with Irrfan Khan. Now, amidst all the buzz the producer of the film, Dinesh Vijan has announced that Irrfan Khan’s daughter in the film will be played by none other than Pataakha star Radhika Madan. The actress will be seen playing the role of Irrfan’s daughter who wants to go abroad and study.
Amidst all the buzz, Dinesh Vijan also mentioned that the leading of the film will be announced soon and he is in talks with a few heroines for the same. Although rumours are ripe that Kareena Kapoor might play the female lead but no official confirmation was made by the filmmakers. Dinesh Vijan also expressed his happiness on Irrfan being back on set and mentioned, “When he gave his first shot everyone around got emotional. For me, it was one of those life-defining moments working with him again after Hindi Medium.”
While Irrfan Khan’s character in 'Hindi Medium' was Raj Batra, a Delhi based businessman with a sari showroom, he plays Champak from Udaipur who is in the mithai business for 'Angrezi Medium'. Deepak Dobriyal who was also seen in Hindi Medium plays his brother and they two have inherited a 100-year-old sweet business. Spilling beans about the plot the director said, Irrfan’s daughter has aspirations of studying in the West.
After shooting in Rajasthan till end of the month, the team will be filming the rest of the movie in London. The film officially went on the floors in Udaipur on Friday and the first pictures from the shoot show the actor in a healthier state.
