Superstar Shah Rukh Khan who has given us blockbuster and evergreen films like Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Chak De India, Swades amongst others is losing his ground as the Badshah of Bollywood, all blame on the failure of his last few movies like 'Jab Harry met Sejal', 'Zero'.

After successive failures at the box office, the veteran actor has become extremely choosy and has even pulled out of a film depicting the life of India's first space traveller Rakesh Sharma.

And now the actor wants to traverse a different path. After Saif Ali Khan, Radhika Apte, Rishi Kapoor, now Shah Rukh too wants to ride the wave of Netflix frenzy in India. Bollywood Hungama has reported that after 'Bard of Blood' starring Emraan Hashmi, Shah Rukh is now all set to produce another film on a very interesting concept.

Sources revealed that SRK’s new project will be set in the year 1983 and will be based on Mumbai Police’s initiative to train a special team of encounter specialists and shooters at the time when the underworld captivated the city.

The film produced by Red Chillies Entertainment will have all elements of a well-mounted period drama and will also have the World Cup win in the backdrop of the plot.

Atul Sabharwal has been roped in to direct this project.
