Ever since Panipat trailer also starring Kriti Sanon released a lot of comparisons were made regarding her character to that of Priyanka Chopra’s Kashi Bai in Bajirao Mastani. Of the many, many period dramas made, Sanon, however is clear about which movie and female character she admires the most. During a recent media interaction held in Mumbai for the promotion of the film, Kriti revealed which period drama she loved the most.
"I loved Jodhaa Akbar, I like Jodhaa's character as she is very strong in the film. She has a voice and is very strong-headed."
"One of my favourite scenes is the sword-fighting scene featuring Akbar Hrithik Roshan and Jodhaa Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, it's so beautifully shot. I want to do a scene like that one’’ Sanon said of the 2008 Hrithik Roshan and Aishwarya Rai starrer.
As for the comparisons of her character Parvati Rai to that of PeeCee’s Kashi Bai, she said, ‘’ I was expecting comparisons when I signed the film Panipat. The setting is similar because the Peshwas lived in Shaniwar Wada, and they dressed in a certain way. But the characters are different. I hope the audience doesn't jump to conclusions by watching only the trailer’’.
‘’Infact, I and Priyanka met at a party recently and we were trying to figure the exact relation between Kashi Bai and Parvati Bai’’.
She also uploaded a picture of the meeting with PeeCee which she shared on her Instagram, "When Parvati Bai met Kashi Bai. It's always so lovely meeting you PC! Big hug’’ Sanon wrote.
A humongous starrer that includes Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Kapoor, Padmini, Zeenat, Mohnish Bahl, Mir Sarwar, Nawab Shah and Kunal Kapoor in lead roles, ‘Panipat’ which is based on third battle of Panipat, will hit the screens on December 6, 2019.
