Jacqueline Fernandez and her make up skills, fashion statements, fitness are among Bollywood’s best kept secreta. Any aspiring actor or fashionista would die to get beauty advice from the Bollywood diva. However, believe it or not the Sri Lankan beauty was asked to get a nose job, change her name to make herself more marketable in the entertainment bizz. Currently shooting for a Holi song with Bigg Boss 13 Runners up Asim Riaz, Jacqueline recently shared all kinds of advice she used to get on how to fit in early in her career.
Talking to Pinkvilla, the Race 3 actress said, “I was told, ‘Do a nose job’, ‘Change your name’. So many people! In that moment, I thought, ‘Is it really needed?’ I decided to just be me. I was quite calm and cool and collected about it, and then things worked out for me,”
Jacqueline was also asked to change her name to Muskaan but the agency she hired to get her film contracts as at that time, many found it ‘very Western’. Nevertheless she decided to stick to the name she has always carried.
Jacqueline was also asked to work on her Hindi speaking skills. Coming from a foreign country she had to work really her to better her hIndi diction, considering it was one of her limitations. The actress also received ‘weird’ advices like to darken her eye brows. Now she is the face of several beauty and luxury brands.
Jacqueline was also trolled for sporting a traditional outfit. She was accused of “trying hard” to be Indian. She said, “I felt really offended by this. I came for a Diwali party once in a really traditional outfit. Three of my actor friends were like, ‘Why are you wearing a saree? Why are you trying so hard? You are not Indian!’
Jacqueline started her career in 2009 with Sujoy Ghosh’ Alladin’. She will be next seen in John Abraham starrer ‘Attack’.
