Saif Ali Khan and Alaya F-starrer Jawaani Jaaneman hit the screens this Friday and recieved a great response from the audience. On the opening day, the film has earned Rs 3.24 crore. Film critic Taran Adarsh took to Twitter to share the box office collections. He wrote, ''#JawaaniJaaneman does much better than several *solo* #SaifAliKhan movies released in the *recent past*... Biz witnessed an upward trend towards evening shows at metros... Needs to trend well over the weekend for a respectable total... Fri ₹ 3.24 cr. #India biz.''

Talking about the film, trade analyst Girish Johar was quoted as saying by Hindustan Times, "The people have loved the trailer and it has gained the attention of the youth. The makers have also recreated some hit old songs, which got a good response from the music lovers. 2020 has been very good for Saif after Tanhaji. Earlier also, he has been appreciated for such roles (as that in Jawaani Jaaneman) in Cocktail and Love Aaj Kal. The film is targeting metro cities and the youth and is also an introduction of Alaya F in Bollywood. It should get a decent start at Rs 3.5 crore - 4.5 crore, depending on word of mouth and how it performs in the evening on Friday."

In the film, Saif plays a man who suddenly discovers he has a daughter, played by debutante Alaya, with his former lover, essayed by actor Tabu. "I am lucky to get varied roles like 'Omkara', 'Tanhaji... ' and these kind of films. Producer Jay Shewakramani came to me with this offer. "He had the script, but for one or two years we did not talk about it. I wanted to do age-appropriate roles. I felt the father's role was interesting. This part was cool and of a different kind," Saif had said.

Tabu and Saif have earlier worked in the 1990s hits like Hum Saath Saath Hain and Biwi No 1. Saif is also co-producing the film under his banner Black Knight Films, along with Pooja Entertainment and Northern Lights Films Besides this film, Himesh Reshammiya's Happy Hardy Heer and Malala Yousafzai's biopic Gul Makai also hit the screens on Friday. Tanhaji, Panga and Street Dancer 3D are also still popular among moviegoers.
