Boman Irani is all set to play the onscreen father of Ranveer Singh in the upcoming film, Jayeshbhai Jordaar. The humorous entertainer set in Gujarat is directed by debutant Divyaang Thakkar. The veteran actor says that the script is ‘rare’ and it’s a ‘moving story’.

"'Jayeshbhai Jordaar' is a rare script that tells a brilliant, moving story. For me, Divyang is a writer and director to watch out for and talent like him comes once in many, many years. He has written something exceptionally thought provoking that delivers a powerful message in the most entertaining and humorous manner," Boman said.

In the film, Ranveer Singh will be playing the role of a Gujarati man. Talking about working with Ranveer, Boman said: "Working with Ranveer is always fun. He is a powerhouse performer who gives his all in every scene and as an artist, it is amazing to creatively collaborate with such people. I'm playing his father in the film and we have a very interesting relationship for people to find out when they see the film."

Ranveer's First Look

Just a few months back, Ranveer had shared his first look from the film. The poster featured him in an orange polo-neck printed T-shirt, black jeans and wavy hair. The actor was also seen sporting a moustache. By the looks of the poster, it is clear that the actor has lost a visible amount of weight for the film.

Talking about his character in the film, Ranveer said, "As Charlie Chaplin once said, 'To truly laugh, you must be able to take your pain, and play with it!' Jayeshbhai is an unlikely hero - an ordinary man, who ends up doing something extraordinary when he's hurled into a threatening situation. Jayeshbhai is sensitive and compassionate. He believes in equal rights between men and women in a society that is deeply rooted in patriarchal ideals, practices and doctrines."

Shalini Pandey, who featured in the Telugu blockbuster Arjun Reddy, will make her Bollywood debut opposite Ranveer Singh in Jayeshbhai Jordaar.
