The long-awaited verdict in the 1998 black buck poaching case against actor Salman Khan will be announced by a Jodhpur court on April 5.

The court of the chief judicial magistrate (Jodhpur Rural) reserved the judgment on Wednesday after the final arguments in the case which began on September 13, 2017.

Magistrate Dev Kumar Khatri reserved the order in the presence of the actor and other accused, including a local, Dushyant Singh.

”After the completion of the prosecution’s arguments on October 23, we began our arguments on October 28 last year and completed on February 4,” the actor’s counsel H M Saraswat said.

He added that the counsels for the co-accused completed their final arguments on March 24.

Khan was accused of killing two black bucks on October 2, 1998, in Kankani village in Jodhpur during the shooting of the film - Hum Saath Saath Hain.

The trial of the case has been in progress in the court for the last 19 years.
