2018 has been an entertaining year for all the movie buffs as several content-based films have hit the cinema theatres. Be it Raazi or Parmanu, the audience has been treated with some of the best work in Indian cinema this year.
Fans have been eagerly waiting for John Abraham starrer Parmanu ever since the project was announced by the makers. The espionage thriller, which released after a lot of hiccups on May 25, has opened on a positive note.
The Abhishek Sharma directorial minted Rs 4.82 crore on its first opening day, despite facing competition from the qualifier 2 of IPL 2018.
Bollywood trade analyst and critic Taran Adarsh shared the box office collection of Parmanu on social media. He mentioned that the strong word of the mouth publicity should help the flick recover its ground on weekends.

Parmanu is based on the nuclear bomb test explosions which were conducted by India 20 years ago in Pokhran. John Abraham, who played the role of Captain Ashwat Raina in the film, has earned good reviews from the critics.
Overwhelmed with the initial response to the film, John Abraham in a media statement said, ''Nothing could make me happier today than the validation of our efforts to celebrate our unsung heroes by our audience across India! I have been getting so many calls from our distributors and exhibitors and I'm thankful to each one of them for their unstinted support and for standing by and loving this labour of love. I am humbled and grateful to each one of them."
Bollywood celebrities have given a thumbs up to the film for giving an ode to the Indian Army and scientists, who defied all the odds to ensure that India finds its due place on the world nuclear map.
Really enjoyed #Parmanu. The sheer audacity of what we as a nation achieved and the heroes that did it…. This story had to be told! So happy and proud of my brother @TheJohnAbraham well done to the entire team, Sharmaji, @DianaPenty and the rest of the wonderful cast and crew.ðŸ‘
