Judgementall Hai Kya’s first day collection is lower than Kangana’s last film, Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi, which made Rs 8.75 crore on its first Friday. For Rajkummar, the film’s opening was higher than his last film, Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga, which had opened at just Rs 3 crore.
The film was previously titled Mental Hai Kya, but underwent a last-minute change after controversy surrounding its depiction of mental health.
When asked about Judgementall Hai Kya at an event, Rajkummar said, "It’s an amazing script as it is a very quirky and different comedy. Kangana is such a powerhouse performer and we are coming together after Queen along with Ekta Kapoor (producer) so it’s going to be a lot of fun.â€Â
Apart from Ranaut and Rao, the film also stars Jimmy Sheirgill and Amyra Dastur. The film, directed by Prakash Kovelamudi and produced by Ekta Kapoor's Balaji Telefilms, released on July 26 with some minor changes, as suggested by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC).Â
