Filmmaker Shankar is sailing high with the huge success of Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar-starrer sci-fi flick 2.0. The film was released on November 29 in over 10,000 screens across the world and managed to cross the 100 crore-benchmark from its Day 1 box-office collection itself. However, the director has already moved forward to put his upcoming project in place.

As reported earlier, Shankar had been busy working simultaneously for his next flick Indian 2. The movie will be a sequel to the hit film with the same name. Megastar Kamal Haasan will be starring in Shankar’s upcoming project, yet again.
While the male protagonist has been locked, it is speculated that Kajal Aggarwal will share the big screen with Kamal. Rumours also suggest that the Singham actor has already got her look test done abroad.
Earlier it was reported that Nayanthara would be playing the leading lady opposite Kamal, but since the film shooting did not begin as per the schedule, the actor could not reschedule more dates as she has her plate already full with nearly four movies in different languages.
The 2.0 director, recently in an interview, revealed that he was so thrilled with Kamal Haasan’s look as Senathipathi (old man in Indian), that he got goosebumps.

As quoted in India Today, Shankar said, “We recently had a makeup test for Kamal Haasan's role in Indian 2. All I can say is that he is on a roll. When we saw Kamal Haasan in the old man look, it gave me goosebumps. I was so excited and kept thinking how would the audience react after seeing one of their favourite characters on screen after 25 years. It was a great feeling."
Indian 2 will be bankrolled by Lyca Productions, which also produced the Rajinikanth-starrer 2.0. The movie is slated to go on floors on December 14.
