Bollywood actress Kalki Koechlin is all set to welcome her first child with boyfriend Guy Hershberg. The gorgeous actress revealed that she is five months pregnant and will deliver the baby through water birth. Talking about motherhood in an interview with HT Brunch, Kalki said, "I already feel the changes in the way I react to things. I am more deliberate, slower, more patient. When motherhood comes eventually, it brings with it a new consciousness to your sense of person."
Talking about the name of the child Kalki and Guy have chosen, she said, "I’ve chosen a name that works for either gender and that is representative of a gay person, because I want my child to have that freedom of movement under the many umbrellas of gender that we have."
For those who don’t know, Guy is an Israeli classical pianist. Kalki Koechlin was formerly married to filmmaker Anurag Kashyap. The two had married in 2011, before getting separated in 2013. They finally divorced in 2015.
"Once I got married, I was only invited to the things that Anurag was invited to. People would say, 'Call Anurag's wife'. They wouldn't say, 'call Kalki' or 'call Kalki's husband'. In marriage, a woman becomes the weaker sex, even if her husband doesn't want her to be. This happens because of the way society has built the institution," she had said in an interview published in a recently launched book, Feminist Rani, penned by Shaili Chopra and Meghna Pant.
On the work front, Kalki was last seen in the second season of Netflix’s Sacred Games. She played the role of Batya Abelman.
