Kangana Ranaut is basking in the glory of the Padma Shri and positive review of her last week’s release Panga. The actress recently commenced the shoot of the Jaylalitha biopic titled Thalaivi and before shooting for the part where she becomes a classical dancer, the actress social media team shared pictures of her dressed in traditional attire with South Indian jewellery, broad black eyes, the kind done by Bharatnatyam dancers. Her post also wished her hair stylist Maria Sharma on her 50th work anniversary.

The pictures show Kangana getting her hairdo done ahead of the film shoot. She has her hair tied in a bun, which has been adorned with flowers. The post was captioned, “Wishing Maria Sharma a glorious five decades in the Indian film industry. This legendary hair stylist who worked with screen icons like Hema Malini, Sharmila Tagore, Helen and Manisha Koirala completed 50 years on the sets of Thalaivi. #KanganaRanaut started her career with Maria Ji with films like ‘Woh Lamhe’ and ‘Once Upon A Time in Mumbai’. Maria, who had a rough start in life as her husband died when she was just 20 years old. She went on to become one of the top artists in Bollywood while single-handedly raising her 2 daughters. Kangana’s fans loved the look and showered the actor with praise and congratulated Maria for her achievements. A fan called the actor “Gorgeous” while another wrote, “Wow !! Interesting.” One more user called the look, “mesmerising.”

Kangana has prepared hard for her role from taking Bharatnatyam classes to learning Tamil. Rangoli has also shared pictures of the actress practicing the classical dance form.

Jayalalitha had a strong foundation in classical arts and was trained Bharatnatyam dancer. Jayalalithaa also trained in Carnatic vocal music from one Gopalakrishna Sarma. She also took basic training in other classical dance forms like Kuchipudi, Manipuri and Kathak and in playing the piano. Her first stage performance was at the famous Rasika Ranjani Sabha, one of the oldest establishments for classical music and dance festivals at Mylapore, Chennai.
