Kangana Ranaut's lawyer issues legal notice to Entertainment Journalists Guild

New Delhi:

Kangana Ranaut after blasting the journalists community with a twitter video calling them 'chinddi', '10th fail' , 'bikau' has sent a legal notice to entertainment Journalists Guild of India that has called for a total boycott of any media coverage of Kangana Ranaut after she got involved in a spat with a journalist at a song launch event of her upcoming movie Judgementall Hai Kya.

Rizwan Siddiqui, the advocate for Kangana's notice has asked to clear its stand on its ban on the actress.  It also questions the authenticity of Entertainment Journalists' Guild.

The notice questioned the intentions of "some" journalists and accused them of having "criminal intentions and ulterior motives" and violating "Norms of Journalistic Conduct". The lawyer further accused them of "defaming, annoying, ridiculing, harassing and criminally intimidating" Kangana "without any provocation whatsoever".

Kangana's advocate in the notice alleged that the "so-called unprofessional journalists" use public platforms to "illegally and criminally" harass celebrities including Kangana and added that these acts don't fall in "freedom of speech but amount to defamation".

"It is indeed unfortunate that some sincere journalists, without understanding the facts of the matter have sought to support these iniquitous journalists who are openly indulging in wrongful criminal acts as mentioned above," read the notice.

The notice also questioned the authenticity of the Guild and read, "It appears that an unregistered association named 'Entertainment Journalists' Guild' has been formed in the said manner and most journalists who are absolutely ill-informed of the factual matrix of the said matter are joining the said association, without understanding that they are directly supporting and encouraging unprofessional journalists through such medium, instead of condemning such criminal and wrongful acts."

The notice concluded as saying that through their action should make clear "if they want to work against the guidelines which are binding on then' and which according to the actress and her advocate is a form of support to 'unprofessional and criminal acts of some journalists.'
