Ever since the nepotism debate rocked Bollywood, Ranaut sisters, Kangana and Rangoli have always been extremely critical of the filmmaker works at several instances. This time the dagger hangs on his upcoming directorial venture, Takht.
Rangoli, sister and manager to Kangana recently took to Instagram to express her disappointment on the upcoming periodic drama based on what led to Aurangeb’s ambitious succession to the Mughal throne post Shah Jahan’s reign calling it ‘sexual depiction of historic characters.’
The Twitter dig started with a discussion over Lord Rama and the epic tale of Ramayana, Rangoli slammed books and films which glorify the Mughal period and not Lord Rama and his greatness.
After a couple of tweets, Rangoli directed her attack on Kjo and wrote, "And now not surprisingly our dear Karan Johar is making a film on this cruel bloodline, he will depict Aurangzeb cruelty through his abs and sexual relationships".
Further she wrote,"These dumb filmmakers need to be stopped from sexual depiction of historic characters, before they start their crying drama and claim that democracy is dead and bring international shame to the nation, I request authorities to ask them to submit their scripts."
Calling the movie a celebration of invaders who killed men and raped women, she said, “Whosoever makes soft porns in the name of invasion history should be punished as well, invaders killed men and raped women we don’t need musical celebrations of that, thanks but no thanks”
Talking about the project, Karan has earlier revealed that the plot of the drama is about two warring brothers. 'It has the tropes of court politics. It is so rich in texture.' said the director. Meanwhile it was learnt that Anil Kapoor will essay the role of Shah Jahan, Ranveer Singh will be seen as Dara Sikoh and Vicky Kaushal as Auranzeb in the film.
