Veteran Kannada actor Kashinath passes away due to cancer

New Delhi:

Renowned Kannada actor Kashinath breathed his last in Chamarajpet in Bengaluru. He was suffering from cancer.

Reportedly, the veteran actor was admitted to Shankara Cancer Hospital two days ago where he passed away on Thursday morning. Kashinath is survived by his wife and two children.

Talking about his journey in Sandalwood industry, Kashinath made his debut as a producer-director in 1975 release Aparoopada Athitigalu. However, he got his big break with Aparichita in 1978.

Thereafter, there was no looking back for him and Kashinath went on to give several hits like Anubhava, Avale Nanna Hendthi, and Anantana Avantara. 

In fact, he was also known for several comedy movies and its double meaning dialogues.

A well-known face in the industry, Kashinath was a godfather to actor Upendra and directors V. Manohar and Sunil Kumar Desai etc.

He was last seen in 2012 release thriller movie 12 AM Madyaratri along with his son Alok Kashinath.
