Kabir Khan’s biopic 83 based on legendary cricketer Kapil Dev with Ranveer Singh in the shoes of the ace cricketer just got a whole lot more interesting. According to Mumbai Mirror, 83 which depicts the journey of the World Cup-winning Indian cricket team has chipped in Kapil Dev’s own daughter Amiya Dev as assistant director to filmmaker Kabir Khan.
According to reports, Amiya is observing every minute detail on the knicks and knacks of film making as a career and also to do justice to her father’s biopic. Chirag Patil, the son of cricketer Sandip Patil, who plays the character of his father in ’83 praised Amiya. He was quoted by the daily saying, “We met for the first time while working on the film. She’s from Delhi, I’, from Mumbai and she’s way younger than me. She’s part of our daily training sessions since she is on the direction team. So, she keeps us updating on any meetings we are supposed to attend. Whenever I’m in Kabir’s office, she’s there and is very involved in the process, be it planning the costumes or the schedule.”
