Kapil Sharma's Firangi gets postponed, to release in December

Comedian-turned-actor Kapil Sharma's upcoming movie Firangi has been postponed for release. The movie, which was expected to hit the screens this Friday, will now hit the screens on December 1.

According to the media reports, the decision was taken after awaiting for the clearance from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC).

"We have seen the film today and we will issue a certificate shortly. It will be certified perhaps later in the day or tomorrow," a source was reportedly quoted as saying.

Confirming the news, Kapil Sharma stated, "The film has been delayed a bit. The screening of the film at the CBFC happened today. We are yet to get a certificate from the board. We are now coming on December 1".

Interestingly, December 1 was earlier locked for the release of the much talked about Padmavati. However, the movie was deferred in wake of the ongoing protests against Padmavati, alleging distortion of historical facts.

Looks like Firangi makers are planning to cash on the postponing of Sanjay Leela Bhansali's directorial. Helmed by Rajiv Dhingra, Firangi is produced by Kapil Sharma and also stars Ishita Dutta in lead role.
