Kapoor Haveli, the historic birth place of Raj Kapoor in Pakistan, has its demolition underway. The demolition is being carrying out on the directions of current owner of the house.
The current owner claimed to have received a notice of the municipal authorities asking him to pull down the structure “as its condition was too precarious and it could collapse any time”.
Actually, Raj Kapoor started acting much before separation in the year 1924, he was 10 year old at that time.
After separation Kapoors moved to Mumbai and left their house located in Dhaki Munawar Shah Area in Peshawar. After this, he went on to do some historic roles and earned fame to set up RK films.
However, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government of Pakistan had earlier declared the houses of Peshawar-born Bollywood actors Raj Kapoor and Dilip Kumar as heritage to protect and preserve them.
