Karan Johar proves Takht is not shelved, accidentally reveals release date

Karan Johar's highly ambitious project Kalank and then launch pad for star kids. Student Of The Year 2 failed to impress the audience and churned abysmally low numbers at the box office.

This lead many to believe that he has shelved his upcoming directorial venture Takht set in the Mughal era for an indefinite period of time especially after reports suggested fire at a Dharma Productions godown destroyed the props and costumes for the films.

However, that is not the case and to silence rumours of the multi-starrer being shelved, the director turned producer posted glimpses of preparation session for the film from his production house on his Instagram profile. The video had a virtual tour of his office and while camera was on the first poster of the film, the actor accidentally let out the tentative release date of the movie.

The first-look poster of Takht - neatly framed and hanging on one of the walls.  mentions that the movie will be released in December 2020.

According to a report in Pinkvilla, the team is busy to get the research material in place. The research team is finalizing the set that needs to be prepared with the help of pictures or relevant historical material that throws light on Mughal decor and customs.

Takht features an ensemble star cast comprising of A-listers like Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Vicky Kaushal, Janhvi Kapoor, Bhumi Pednekar and Anil Kapoor.
