The Kerala High Court on Tuesday granted bail to Malayalam actor Dileep in the actress abduction case.

This was Dileep’s fifth bail plea, and the third before the High Court.

He was arrested on July 10 on charges of conspiracy behind the abduction and assault of a South Indian actress.

As per the prosecution, Dileep had given a 'quotation' or contract for kidnapping and sexually molesting the actress.

The prosecution told the court that Dileep would have obtained Rs 65 crore if the 'quotation' was properly carried out by Sunil Kumar alias 'Pulsar' Suni, the first accused in the case.

Unlike earlier bail pleas which cited merit, the actor had contended this time that it was his eligibility to get statutory bail as police hasn't filed a chargesheet in 60 days.
